OUR ULTIMATE GUIDE TO SIZING YOUR LEATHER BELT.

Confused by selecting your belt size…

Never fear, we are here to help you navigate through.

Here is our guide to selecting the correct belt size.

The perfect belt fit is so that the buckle prong will enter the middle or third hole of your belt. This allow enough over hang to pass through 1-2 belt loops without excessive over hang. It also leaves you room to gain or lose two whole sizes without needing a new belt – perfect for that Christmas Cheer.

There are a few different ways to select your belt size; using you pants size, using a measuring tape or using an existing belt.

USING YOUR PANTS SIZE

Generally speaking your belt size should be 2 inches longer than your actual pants size. So if you are a size 36” in your pants than you can not go wrong with choosing a size 38” belt. If you happen to be an odd size such as 37” than you should always round up to an even size – that being size 38” for a 40” belt.

It is important to add the 2 inches to the pant size, otherwise you will find your belt only going to the first hole (if you are lucky). This is not good for anyone, as you will find yourself having to excessively pull on the belt causing damage to the leather and not being able to breathe or eat for the day….

MEASURING TAPE

If you can get your hands on a SOFT measuring tape, then measure your waist at the height in which you wish wear your pants. LADIES – this is especially important for you…. Are your pants or dress high waisted or hipsters. The size difference can be quite significant so please get this right.

Once you have measured in inches than you have your belt size. A measurement of 36” equals a 36” belt size.

USE AN EXISTING BELT

If you are using an existing belt then you need to measure the length of the belt from where the buckle meets the leather, to the hole in which you currently wear the belt. Make sure it is the current hole that you comfortably wear the bet too.
Do not use any belt sizes that are printed on the back of your belt. The belt may have been adjusted before arriving to you.
